Just a few days after the debut of the concept car "Jaguar Type 00" at Art Week in Miami, the British brand continued to demonstrate its transformation by presenting the car for the 11th season of FE as the reigning world champion team.
The "I-TYPE 7", which will be driven by the duo of Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans over 16 rounds, features a new dynamic paint scheme while staying true to the black-white-gold color palette that we have seen from the team over the past few seasons.
"What an exciting week it has been to kick off our title campaign for 2024/25," said James Barclay, team principal of "Jaguar TCS Racing", ahead of the new season. "Firstly, the presentation of the new 'Jaguar Type 00' in Miami, and now the presentation of our 'Jaguar I-TYPE 7' in official livery here in São Paulo, less than 24 hours before it hits the track. This is an incredibly exciting time for the 'Jaguar' brand and for us as the reigning world champions. Alongside victories in the team championship and the manufacturer's cup in season ten with the 'Jaguar I-TYPE 6', we have been designing, developing, and testing the new 'Jaguar I-TYPE 7'. The all-new 'Jaguar' powertrain is at the start of its development journey, but we have seen positive early signs and, like all teams, we are enjoying the challenge of maximizing the new rules and opportunities that come with the transition to the 'GEN3 Evo' era in Formula E."
The "GEN3 Evo" and the new homologation mean that manufacturers have the opportunity to introduce enhanced concepts and components of powertrains in addition to the overall chassis and the ability for all-wheel drive. I am confident that the changes will mean not only faster cars but also an incredibly intense and competitive season, where most participants will be able to fight for podiums and wins. Most importantly, these new rules open up additional opportunities for accelerated development and testing of electric vehicle technologies, as well as ensure that these advantages will translate into future fully electric 'Jaguar' cars for the benefit of our customers."
Last month, during preseason testing in Madrid, the team debuted a temporary livery that received positive feedback from fans, but this new look will remain with them for the entirety of what promises to be a thrilling season.
